Jun and Cindy Elegant Pink and Grey Wedding

In the month of February 2018, my aunt called me up one day and asked if I could arrange the church wedding of her son, Junjun and his civil-wedded wife, Cindy. They were willing to spend only 150k for everything from venue, food, dresses, cake, etc.. I gladly obliged, of course they are family!

But there was one thing that got me off my chair, they wanted the wedding to be held on May 19, 2018. Specifically that date only. Technically, that would have left me 3 months to plan the entire wedding! So the 90 days Wedding Planning Challenge began that day!

I made a budget breakdown for everything that includes the following:
  • Food Catering for 130 guests
  • Hotel Accommodation
  • Photo and Video Coverage with Prenup Pictorials
  • Prenup Location Fee
  • Entourage Flowers
  • Church Decorations
  • Reception Decors
  • Wedding Tuxedo for groom and Bridal Gown
  • Barong for best man and 3 groomsmen
  • Dresses for maid of honor and 3 bridesmaids
  • Dresses for 3 flower girls and barong for bearers
  • Hair and Makeup for 10 persons
  • Hair and Makeup during prenup shoot
  • 3-Layer Icing Cake
  • Wedding Invitations
  • Wedding Souvenirs
  • 1 pcs Lechon
  • 50 pcs Souvenirs
  • 50 pcs Invitations
  • Sounds and Lights, Emcee and Program
  • Photobooth
  • Wedding Coordinators
  • Wedding Essentials (bible, cord, candle, aras, veil, garter, party poppers)
  • Van for Entourage
  • Bridal Car

This is the spin off version of our Simple Wedding Package. We are flexible with the client's willingness to spend. We can customize according to specific budget without sacrificing quality services.

VENUE BOOKING

I immediately called every venue I could think of and most of them were already booked since the chosen date was very near. My cousin, Hanny, sister of the groom, suggested Tito Marc's Restaurant along Bacaca Road. Their prices met the budget and at the time that she called, the date May 19 was still available. With no hesitation, she booked the date and place for his brother's wedding function.

CHURCH BOOKING

Next, I called every church that was accessible to the location of their house. I targeted churches in the south - Our Lady of Lourdes, Bankal; Ascension of our Lord, GSIS Heights; St. Francis Assisi, Maa and San Pablo Parish, Juna Subdivision. Most of these churches were already fully booked for that day, but lo and behold San Pablo Parish had an open slot in the morning - 10o'clock! So, we went ahead with the pencil booking. Even though my cousin and his wife were already married in the civil court, it is a rather queer policy that San Pablo Parish would still not book the date for them until they had the interview with the priest and seminars.

We were hanging at the edge knowing that the church would still be uncertain. They were instructed to attend seminars and interview first before they get the slot. Well, there was nothing else to do but follow the rules. So they did. Thankfully, no couple were interested with the open slot other than my cousin and his wife. After the church interview and seminars, the church finally booked them. The following documents were asked from each of them:

  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Confirmation Certificate
  • Marriage Contract
  • List of Principal Sponsors

After settling the two most important aspects of the wedding we proceeded with the planning. There was, however, a brief pause around mid of March 2018 when the father of the bride suddenly passed away. The family was torn whether to proceed with the wedding or not. We did not talk about the wedding until the second week of April 2018. As the wedding day got nearer, we needed to fast track everything.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT

We set the engagement photoshoot and chose a location near downtown - Amiya Cafe Lagoon at Amiya Residences, Libby Road, Puan. For just 3,500 pesos you can have pictorials around the vicinity and the 3,000 was consumable which was so cool because then we wouldn't have to worry about the meals for the couple and entire prenup crew.

WEDDING DAY

Finally, after only about 90 days of planning the entire wedding, after finalizing the wedding program and music, stage and church designs, final fittings, final payments to the wedding suppliers, the time has come for everything to work in one orchestration.

Preparations

The call time for makeup artists, photographers and coordinators was at 4am since the wedding will start at 10 o'clock in the morning. We booked two rooms at Golden Belle Apartelle, Mangga Street, Juna Subdivision, just one block away from San Pablo Church. Their entire family checked in the night before for the early wedding preparations the next day.

They say a woman blooms her full beauty on her wedding day. True indeed. Cindy was glowing!

Church Wedding Rites

In my years of experience as a wedding planner, I always notice that during the wedding day, time seems to pass by so fast. 10 o'clock in the morning came as fast as it went through. The processional march started right away.

Bridal March. Cindy's emotion was a whirlwind this day because she remembered her father.

The giving away of the bride.

Wedding Reception

After the church wedding rites, these newlyweds had just received the blessing of the church surrounded by families and loved ones. Right after the pictorials in the altar, we all proceeded to the venue of reception - Tito Marc's Catering and Restaurant, Bacaca Road, Bajada, Davao City.

During the wedding ceremony, their second-born child, baby Edric also received the Sacrament of Baptism.

Friends and family came all the way from far flung places to celebrate their wedding!

View from the emcee side. I did the hosting. I was teary-eyed with the emotions during this day.

TAKEAWAY

Over all, the event was successful! Everyone was happy and left the reception in high emotions. They enjoyed the ceremony, the food, the program and the ambiance of the venue. This will forever be preserved in the photos and deeper recesses of our memories.

Our family is growing and expanding year by year. This was truly a beautiful day to remember. The love of family has been felt with their presence during the event. This was my uncle's wish before he passed away last year. Interestingly, this was also Cindy's father's wish before he passed away last March. Even though our hearts were grieving with their physical absence, we were also filled with indescribable joy knowing their spirits were just close and also celebrating the occasion.

Congratulations to my handsome cousin, Junjun and his beautiful wife, Cindy for receiving the blessings of the Sacrament of Matrimony and to their cute baby boy Edric for receiving the blessings of the Sacrament of Baptism. May your marriage flourish in the years to come. May God bless you more with prosperity, opportunities, success and peace of mind! Love you both!

Thank you for trusting me and my team to assist you in delivering your dream beautiful elegant pink wedding!
